When elation makes its way to my ears

When true delight comes from what I hold dear

My heart can prevail against life’s great fears

And compel my troubles to disappear

Life’s cherished moments fill my heart with glee

Like adrenaline giving me a thrill

And brings my heart to purest ecstasy

That only horrid tragedy can kill

Always delivering astounding bliss

Almost to the point of hysteria

Joy truly is like a marvelous kiss

Providing me utter euphoria

Why yes, joy does fulfill this heart of mine

And carries me directly to cloud nine
